Job Description

To coordinate and manage all on-site construction activities as well as coordinate with project teams including Project Manager, Assistant Project Manager, Foreman, Field Personnel, and others to deliver a successful project to clients on time, within budget, and exceeding expectations.

Requirements

In addition to other duties as assigned by the employer, the responsibilities and qualifications of the Superintendent I include:

  1. Understand project plans, specifications, and owner’s expectations.
  2. Must be knowledgeable in all aspects of the project.
  3. Monitor all work to ensure compliance with plans and specifications.
  4. Direct and schedule all subcontractor activities.
  5. Monitor progress, performance, and quality of subcontractor’s work.
  6. Coordinate and participate in progress meetings.
  7. Coordinate and plan deliveries, handling, storage, and placement of materials.
  8. Coordinate and plan subcontract work, supplier deliveries, and self-performance.
  9. Maintain rapport with team members, demonstrating leadership abilities.
  10. Attend scheduled Superintendent Meetings professionally.
  11. Communicate regularly with Field Operations Manager, Project Manager, Assistant Project Managers, and others.
  12. Travel between multiple job sites and manage workloads of individual projects.
  13. Identify and resolve problems and conflicts.
  14. Schedule inspections as needed.
  15. Provide daily reports to all job personnel.
  16. Complete punch-list items.
Required Skills and Abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to work additional hours as necessary to maintain project schedules.
Education and Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in a supervisory or similar role.
  • 5+ years of construction experience.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to work in environments with loud noise levels.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
  • Prolonged standing, sitting, bending, talking, and hearing.
