HL Contractors, Inc. seeks a highly motivated Construction Superintendent to oversee quality construction within budget and on time. The role coordinates all site activities, supervises field personnel, and enforces safety policies across projects in the commercial sector.

Ideal candidates have 7–10 years’ experience as a commercial construction superintendent, OSHA 10, CPR & First Aid, and proficiency with construction software and MS Office. College degree preferred but not required.

Job Description

HL Contractors, Inc. is looking to add a highly motivated Superintendent to our growing company. We are a commercial General Contractor, and also one of the most respected and widely used performance based interior contractors on a national level serving the retail, food service, and interior contracting markets. HL Contractors, Inc. is privately owned and committed to the success of the company and our employees. Position Summary

The Construction Superintendent coordinates all site construction activities and supervises all field personnel as required to successfully complete allocated projects on schedule and within budget. This includes maintaining the highest quality, supervising all trade and field personnel, while administering good construction safety practices with all on-site activities. Maintains job site office and closes out projects. Reports to Project Manager.

Core Responsibilities

• Coordinates and supervises all construction activities.
• Directs all field personnel to achieve completion of the project on schedule, within budget, and with quality workmanship that conforms to plans and specifications.
• Maintains construction schedules, and identifies and solves problems.
• Orders equipment and materials, and schedules inspections as required throughout project durations.
• Accurately tracks and accounts for all material and equipment on site, as well as providing required reports.
• Fully understands project plans, specifications, and safety policies and requirements.
• Maintains positive relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers and other employees.
• Prepares, schedules and supervises completion of final punch list and other close out documents.
• Promotes job site safety, encourages safe work practices and rectifies job site hazards immediately.
• Administers daily and weekly reports, conducts required safety meetings.
• Ensures all company employees and contractors are adhering to the company safety policy.
• Maintains a safe, clean and organized job site.

Education and Experience

• Minimum 7-10 years’ successful experience as a commercial construction Superintendent.
• College degree preferred but not required.
• High rise, supermarket or retail experience is a huge benefit.
• Experienced in scheduling, ordering, field supervision, quality control and production in all divisions of commercial construction.
• Experienced in managing multiple projects.
• OSHA 10 Hour, CPR & First Aid will be required.
• Must be proficient in the use of computer and iPad technology and able to utilize construction software programs.
