Job summary

HITT Contracting is seeking a Site Operations Executive in Virginia to lead complex onsite operations, directing project engineers and subcontractors, maintaining safety and quality standards, and driving efficient site performance.

The role requires a four-year degree in construction, engineering, or business (or equivalent experience) and 15+ years in commercial construction, with project leadership experience and proficiency in ProCore, Adobe, and BlueBeam. OSHA 30 is preferred.

This team member is assigned to a single complex site where the focus is primarily on the interactions between superintendents, subcontractors, and trades happening simultaneously.The Site Operations Executive gives day-to-day direction to project engineers, assistant superintendents, superintendents, senior superintendents, Site Workforce team members, vendors, and subcontractors on their project. They are responsible for the training of other Site Operations and Site Workforce team members on their site and identifies and implements processes to maximize team efficiency. This position reports to an Operations team member (a business unit leader or above) and does not supervise any direct reports.ResponsibilitiesOversees the HITT safety culture onsite, ensuring proper protocol is enforced.Maintain HITT quality standards for all aspects of the project.Serve as the leader for all on site safety, managing a safe jobsite for all involved.Maintain daily log of all activities and site conditions, while managing the punch list and closeout process through owner/architect acceptance.Work with the project manager in formulating project schedule, ensuring that the proper methods and sequence of installation are followed, making and following through with schedule commitments, and maintaining HITT quality standards.Recognizes issues on the jobsite that can result in financial or schedule risk to the project and/or the company; elevates such issues to the Project Executive or Vice President accordingly.Maintain good working relationships with all subcontractors on the project, developing relationships within the community which enhance business opportunities, and ensuring subcontractors are treated fairly.Ensure complete, accurate daily documentation of work orders/tickets, understanding subcontractor scope of work to avoid unnecessary change orders, and identifying problems early and act immediately to provide solutions.Develop and organize the site team, arranging for temporary facilities/utilities for the site, and identifying long lead items that need to be expedited.Collaborate with the project manager and site operations team throughout the life of the project.Develops Site Operations team members to ensure HITT quality standards continue to be enforced by all in the organization.Provides mentorship to Site Operations team members.QualificationsA four-year degree from an accredited university with a concentration in construction, engineering, or business is strongly preferred.In lieu of a degree, additional work experience is acceptable.15+ years’ experience in commercial construction, including experience with a commercial general contractor.Tenant renovations, service work, work in occupied spaces, weekend work, fast paced project experience all a plus.Mastery of building processes and best practices.Ability to organize necessary resources, including people, tools and time to meet tight deadlines and achieve desired results.Project lead experience preferred Previous experience in a superintendent or project lead experience preferred.Ability to master sector/project-specific software systems including but not limited to: Microsoft Office suite (ex. Project, Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.), ProCore, Adobe, BlueBeam.OSHA 30 Certification preferredAbility to walk and/or stand for long periods of time and the ability to lift up to 50lbs.Must demonstrate a strong ability to:Communicate clearly, concisely, and professionally, with a strong focus on audience appropriate business writing and verbal skillsDemonstrate a positive attitude and passion for construction and our industryGather data, interpret it into meaningful information, and relay that information through clear, concise communication strategies; ability to see how pieces and processes fit into and affect the bigger picture/business modelOrganize and manage tasks and prioritiesDemonstrate integrity consistently with The HITT Way and HITT’s core valuesSeek continuous improvement of knowledge and abilities, internal focus on self-improvementAdapt and exercise flexibility with the ever-changing world of technology, design, means and methodsCollaborate with people of various backgrounds and stylesCreate and maintain relationships with colleagues, clients, subcontractors, and vendorsExhibit respectfulness by being punctual, engaged/focused, and respectful of othersIn accordance with Virginia Senate Bill 215 (SB 215), the base salary range for this position is:$135,000.00 - $190,000.00Compensation in other cities and states may vary. HITT Contracting offers a competitive total benefits and compensation package including performance-based bonuses, premium health care coverage including vision and dental, employer-matched 401(k), wellness reimbursement program, paid holidays and time-off, and other voluntary benefits and leave types.
