HITT Contracting is seeking a Senior Superintendent for advanced manufacturing projects across the Bay Area, including cleanrooms and semiconductor facilities. You will lead on-site operations, manage field teams, and ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.

The role requires extensive experience with technically complex environments, strong knowledge of MEP systems, and proven ability to coordinate multiple teams in occupied facilities.

This individual directs all on-site construction activities while ensuring the project is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with HITT’s quality standards.The ideal candidate will have significant experience delivering cleanrooms, laboratories, semiconductor facilities, or other technically complex manufacturing environments. The Senior Superintendent serves as the primary field leader and coordinates closely with project management, clients, design teams, subcontractors, inspectors, and commissioning personnel throughout the project.ResponsibilitiesLead all on-site construction activities in accordance with HITT’s safety, quality, and operational standardsManage field operations for cleanroom, laboratory, semiconductor, and advanced manufacturing projectsDevelop and maintain project schedules, site logistics plans, sequencing strategies, and short-term look-ahead schedulesCoordinate subcontractors, vendors, deliveries, equipment, and manpower to maintain project milestonesPartner with the Project Manager to develop the overall project plan and resolve schedule, scope, and constructability concernsOversee complex MEP systems, process utilities, controls, life-safety systems, specialty equipment, and system integrationManage clean-build protocols, contamination-control procedures, environmental requirements, and specialized installation standardsCoordinate utility shutdowns, tie-ins, phased construction, and work within active laboratory or manufacturing environmentsSupport equipment installation, startup, testing, commissioning, validation, and facility turnoverConduct daily coordination meetings, subcontractor meetings, and safety planning sessionsMaintain accurate daily reports documenting manpower, progress, inspections, deliveries, constraints, and site conditionsReview drawings, specifications, submittals, RFIs, and coordination documents to identify potential conflictsMonitor workmanship and enforce project-specific quality-control requirementsCoordinate required inspections with local authorities, consultants, clients, and third-party testing agenciesLead the punch-list, commissioning, closeout, and owner-acceptance processesProvide leadership and direction to Assistant Superintendents, Project Engineers, field staff, and subcontractorsMentor and develop field team members while promoting accountability and continuous improvementMaintain positive relationships with clients, design professionals, trade partners, and local authoritiesIdentify and resolve field issues before they affect project safety, quality, cost, or scheduleQualificationsHigh school diploma required; bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field preferredAdditional relevant construction experience may be considered in lieu of a degree10+ years of commercial construction experience, including significant field-leadership experience with a general contractor5+ years of experience serving as a Superintendent or Senior SuperintendentDemonstrated experience delivering cleanrooms, laboratories, semiconductor facilities, or advanced manufacturing projects is requiredStrong knowledge of technically complex MEP systems, process piping, controls, specialty equipment, commissioning, and facility turnoverExperience working in active manufacturing, laboratory, or occupied technical environmentsKnowledge of clean-build procedures, contamination control, shutdown planning, and utility tie-insProven ability to lead large project teams and coordinate multiple subcontractors and work activitiesAdvanced ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, schedules, and technical documentationStrong understanding of construction means and methods, building codes, safety requirements, and quality-control proceduresExperience with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, scheduling platforms, and related construction-management systemsAbility to manage changing priorities, solve complex field issues, and maintain demanding project schedulesOSHA 30 certification and current First Aid/CPR certification preferredThe successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to:Lead confidently and establish clear expectations for all site personnelPromote a strong safety culture and hold project participants accountableCommunicate technical and construction information clearly and professionallyCoordinate effectively with operations, preconstruction, design, safety, and commissioning teamsAnticipate field constraints and develop practical solutions before they affect the projectBuild positive relationships with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and colleaguesCoach and develop Assistant Superintendents and other field team membersAdapt to evolving technologies, designs, schedules, and construction methodsDemonstrate integrity consistent with The HITT Way and HITT’s core valuesMaintain a customer-service-oriented attitude while protecting HITT’s operational interestsIn accordance with California’s Labor Code Section 432.3, the base salary range for this position is:$145,200.00 - $199,650.00Compensation in other cities and states may vary.
