You will manage schedules, subcontractors, and client contracts while coordinating with design teams and facilities teams to ensure on-time delivery and zero disruptions to patient care.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience with a commercial general contractor; healthcare project experience strongly preferred.
  • A four-year degree from an accredited university with a concentration in construction, engineering, or business is strongly preferred.
  • In lieu of a degree, additional work experience is acceptable.
  • Has successfully acquired and/or contacted at least one new client.
  • Proficient in Microsoft suite.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain adherence to safety program across subcontractors in occupied healthcare spaces.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions of contracts with clients including phased work and shutdowns.
  • Monitor progress via master schedule and three-week look-ahead; coordinate inspections and turnover.
  • Ensure Quality Control Plan is followed against drawings, submittals, and tests.
  • Lead preconstruction and RFP package effort for healthcare requirements.
  • Coordinate with design team, authorities having jurisdiction, and inspectors to resolve field issues.
  • Oversee closeout coordination with owner/architect and facilities teams.

Within HITT's Healthcare group, the Senior Project Manager oversees projects such as hospitals, ambulatory care facilities, medical office buildings, imaging and laboratory spaces, and renovations within occupied healthcare environments, where patient safety, infection prevention, life safety, and continuity of operations are critical to client success. The Senior Project Manager is responsible for all of the duties performed by the Project Manager, with particular attention to the complexity, risk, and coordination demands of occupied healthcare settings, as well as the following:ResponsibilitiesMaintain adherence to HITT's standards of safety, including administering the HITT safety program across all subcontractors with particular attention to occupied healthcare spaces, infection-control barriers, interim life-safety measures, egress, and utility shutdownsEnsure all job processes are followed in accordance with HITT policies, including compliance with infection-control requirements, healthcare codes, medical gas standards, and owner-specific facility protocolsNegotiate terms and conditions of contracts with clients, including scope related to phased work, infection-control measures, shutdown windows, and healthcare-specific commissioning and turnover requirementsMonitor the progress of each project through updated schedules, including the master schedule and rolling three-week look-ahead, coordinating inspections, commissioning, and turnover while ensuring proper installation methods and sequencingEnsure that the project Quality Control Plan is followed, including verification of work against approved drawings, specifications, submittals, mockups, testing requirements, and manufacturer instructionsAssist project staff in resolving scope problems with subcontractors, including specialty trades for medical gas, controls, nurse call, low-voltage, and healthcare equipment systemsEnsure proper assignment and evaluation of field personnel both within the project team and throughout the companyIdentify and negotiate time extensions where justified and allowedAcquire new work as well as maintain existing clients within the healthcare sectorMaintain positive relationships with the subcontractor community, including specialty healthcare tradesEnsure timely completion of the closeout process, including coordination through owner/architect and facilities-team acceptanceLead the preconstruction and RFP package effort with the help of the Preconstruction Department and/or other company resources, accounting for healthcare-specific requirements such as infection control, interim life-safety measures, and utility shutdown planningOversee development and execution of detailed method-of-procedure plans for utility shutdowns, tie-ins, energization, and other high-risk activities, including advance approvals, notifications, contingency planning, and post-work verificationCollaborate with the project team, facility representatives, and clinical stakeholders throughout the project to anticipate issues before they affect patient care, schedule, or costCoordinate with the design team, facility representatives, authorities having jurisdiction, and third-party inspectors to resolve field conditions, RFIs, inspections, and code-compliance issues promptlyDelegate responsibility when necessary to ensure that the project/tasks run smoothlyQualifications10+ years of experience with a commercial general contractor; healthcare project experience strongly preferredA four-year degree from an accredited university with a concentration in construction, engineering, or business is strongly preferredIn lieu of a degree, additional work experience is acceptableHas successfully acquired and/or contacted at least one new clientAbility to execute multiple project management efforts simultaneously, including those with the added complexity of occupied healthcare environmentsProficient in Microsoft suiteIn accordance with Virginia Senate Bill 215 (SB 215), the base salary range for this position is:$121,000.00 - $165,000.00Compensation in other cities and states may vary.
