Job summary

Engen Contracting (ECI) seeks a Commercial Construction Project Manager in Austin to lead ground-up and tenant-improvement projects from preconstruction through closeout. You will work with owners, architects, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams to deliver exceptional results.

You will apply leadership, communication, and organizational skills to manage budgets, schedules, and procurement while fostering strong client relationships and guiding project teams to success.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Commercial Construction Project Manager with a General Contractor preferred.
• Experience managing ground-up and tenant improvement commercial construction projects.
• Strong understanding of scheduling, budgeting, project controls, and contract administration.
• Experience managing multiple commercial projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Lead commercial construction projects from preconstruction through final completion.
• Develop and maintain project schedules using Microsoft Project.
• Partner with Superintendents to drive field execution.
• Conduct and lead Owner-Architect-Contractor (OAC) meetings.
• Monitor project quality, safety, schedule, and performance.
• Manage project budgets, forecasting, and cost controls.
• Oversee subcontractor buyout and contract administration.
• Process RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation.
• Manage owner billings and financial reporting.
• Ensure timely procurement of materials and long-lead items.
• Review construction documents for constructability and scheduling impacts.
• Collaborate with Estimating during budgeting and project buyout.
• Coordinate municipal inspections, testing, and regulatory compliance.
• Maintain complete project documentation and closeout requirements.
• Successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with owners, architects, consultants, and trade partners.

The Opportunity

The Commercial Construction Project Manager is responsible for leading projects from preconstruction through closeout while serving as the primary point of contact for owners, architects, consultants, subcontractors, and internal project teams.

Success in this role requires more than technical expertise. It requires leadership, communication, accountability, and the ability to proactively solve problems while delivering an exceptional client experience.

What You'll Do

Lead commercial construction projects from preconstruction through final completion.

Develop and maintain project schedules using Microsoft Project.

Partner closely with Superintendents to drive successful field execution.

Conduct and lead Owner-Architect-Contractor (OAC) meetings.

Monitor project quality, safety, schedule, and overall performance.

Manage project budgets, forecasting, and cost controls.

Oversee subcontractor buyout and contract administration.

This is a full-time position based in Austin, Texas.

This is not a traveling Project Manager position.

A valid driver's license is required.
