Job summary

Jokake Construction Services in Phoenix, AZ, seeks a Commercial Construction Project Manager who drives projects from bidding to close-out. The role demands proactive leadership, ownership, and growth through performance.

You will manage budgets, negotiate owner contracts, and build long-term client partnerships while supporting field teams and ensuring safety and compliance across sites.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3–5 years as a commercial construction Project Manager.
  • BS degree in construction management or related field preferred.
  • Experience with conceptual estimating, scheduling and design review.
  • Strong understanding of owner/GC contracts and risk.
  • Familiarity with CPM scheduling and scheduling software.

Responsibilities

  • Manage projects from bid through job start, tracking and close-out.
  • Negotiate, write, and execute owner contracts and subcontracts.
  • Review and submit client change orders promptly.
  • Develop long-term client relationships and repeat business.
  • Support Superintendents from start to finish on projects.
  • Ensure safety programs and codes compliance across sites.
  • Organize field office records and documentation.
  • Lead CPM schedules using multiple software tools.

Commercial Construction Project Manager

Jokake Construction is looking for a Construction Project Manager who is a proactive producer who excels in an environment of empowerment, ownership and growth potential based on performance and self-motivation. Project Manager’s Skills & Experience:
  • Manages projects from the bid process, through job start, job tracking, and close-out.
  • Performs conceptual estimating and bidding.
  • Comfortably sources potential business from new and established relationships/contacts.
  • Executes project management process through Sage Project Management.
  • Negotiates, writes, and executes owner contracts and subcontract agreements.
  • Reviews and submits client change orders.
  • Strategizes to control job cost and manages job performance for financial success.
  • Expedites lead items and the submittal process.
  • Conducts permit process for all related counties and cities and been able to maintain a good standing with all related city, county, state government agencies.
  • Approves and submits job invoices in a timely manner.
  • Develops strong long-term client relationships and partnerships throughout the local community.
  • Organizes records for all field office activity.
  • Supports Superintendents with the execution of the project from start to finish.
  • Attends and participates in company meetings and events.
Project Manager’s Technical Skills & Competencies:
  • Minimum of three to five years of experience as a commercial construction Project Manager or in a related position is required.
  • Four-year Bachelor of Science degree in construction management or civil, mechanical, or electrical engineering is preferred.
  • Possess a working knowledge of commercial Pre-construction services especially conceptual estimating, scheduling and design review.
  • Must be capable of verifying layout per design drawings and have a clear understanding of details and finishes.
  • OSHA and/or PPM certifications are not required but would be favorable competencies.
  • Comprehends and supports organizational safety programs as well as adheres to county, city and state codes and laws.
  • Deep knowledge of construction related contracts and the ability to understand them the owner’s and GC perspectives.
  • Skilled in creating and following CPM schedules with multiple scheduling software and programs.
  • Proficient in managing a project from beginning to end including sourcing potential business, estimating and close out.

  • Actively pursues clients and creates long term relationships for re-occurring revenue.
  • Personable with the ability to work in a cross-functional, collaborative, team-based environment.
  • The ability to communicate professionally and effectively through all media, to staff, management, peers, business partners, clients and potential clients.
  • Creates strategic alliances with subcontractors/vendors.
  • The ability to learn quickly and adapt in response to competing business demands and changing priorities.
  • Highly Motivated and proactive in addressing challenges and opportunities.
  • Comfortabl e making decisions with little to no supervision.
  • Ethical, trustworthy and must be able to maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Strong organizational skills with a high attention to detail and the ability to meet strict deadlines.
Jokane Provides:
  • A generous salary ranging from $90,000 - $110,000 depending on experience and skillset.
