Job summary

Welty Building Construction is seeking a Project Manager to lead large scale projects in North East Ohio. The ideal candidate will have over ten years of experience managing commercial projects valued at $50 million or more, proficiency in Lean construction, and a degree in Engineering or Construction Management. Project Manager – North East Ohio

Welty Building Company is currently searching for a Project Manager to lead a large, multi‑year project located in North East Ohio. We specialize in Lean Construction and provide professional construction management services across energy, healthcare, commercial, education, and hospitality markets.

General Summary of Job Responsibilities

Project Managers will collaboratively lead, taking responsibility for end‑to‑end service delivery using Lean construction principles. They act as the key day‑to‑day client interface, ensuring client objectives are met and projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to appropriate quality standards. Project Managers report to the Director of Construction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership to the enclosure team and maintain a positive work environment.
  • Lead the establishment of overall success criteria for the project, including time, cost, technical and performance parameters.
  • Communicate with owners, architects and subcontractors regarding project risk, timetables, cost/budgets, and change management.
  • Plan for and manage quality, safety, health, and environmental issues.
  • Develop detailed project plans.
  • Facilitate the cross‑functional project team.
  • Apply performance management techniques, including a scorecard, to improve project performance.
  • Manage flow of project information between the team and the client through regular meetings and written communications.
  • Serve as the primary interface with the client and other consultants at all project stages.
Successful Candidates Must Possess the Following Attributes
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
  • Ten or more years of experience as a Project Manager of commercial building projects valued at $50 million or larger.
  • Experience with complex facades on large‑scale projects or equivalent education and experience.
  • Experience in Lean Construction processes or the ability to adapt to new methodologies.
  • Record of leading projects that finish safely, on time, and within budget.
  • Strict adherence to safety, ethics, and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to lead and work in a collaborative environment.
  • Attention to world‑class quality and workmanship.
  • Proficiency in construction software – Procore (preferred) and Microsoft Office.
  • Understanding of project‑level accounting.
  • Capability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to read and understand drawings, blueprints, specifications and contractual documents.
  • Professional conduct with Welty’s long‑term client and contractor relationships.
  • Ability to leverage technology within a construction environment.
  • Preconstruction and/or estimating experience.
