Job summary

MEC General Contractors is seeking an Estimator to take projects from design through construction kickoff. You will analyze plans, prepare cost estimates, review drawings, and coordinate with the project team to ensure accurate budgets.

The ideal candidate has a construction-management related degree and 2+ years of estimator experience, with strong analytical and negotiation skills and proficiency in estimation software and MS Office. This is an in-person role based in Florida.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field is advantageous
• 2+ years of proven experience as a Commercial Construction Estimator
• Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite

Responsibilities

• Analyze project plans, specs, and scope to determine materials, labor, and equipment needed.
• Prepare accurate cost estimates including materials, labor, permits, and subcontractor bids.
• Review blueprints to identify cost-saving opportunities and value engineering options.
• Perform quantity take-offs and cost calculations for all project components.
• Develop detailed cost breakdowns and reports to support bids and proposals.
• Collaborate with project management to assist in budgeting and cost control.
