Job summary

HR Group in Prague, OK seeks a Construction Estimator to prepare accurate cost estimates for commercial construction projects ranging from $250K to $20M. You will manage the bid cycle, perform detailed takeoffs, and develop the company’s cost database, handing off won projects to the Project Management team.

The role requires 3–5 years’ experience, proficiency with estimating software, and strong reading of drawings and documents. Competitive salary and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience estimating commercial construction projects.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and civil drawings.
• Experience with detailed takeoffs and bid proposals.
• Proficiency with digital estimating tools (Bluebeam, PlanSwift, ProEst).
• Experience handling multiple bids from $250K to $20M under deadlines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial projects including site utilities, sports fields, and turf.
• Perform quantity takeoffs from drawings, specs, and other documents using digital estimating tools.
• Manage the full bid cycle from invitation to bid through proposal submission.
• Identify scope gaps, ambiguities, and risks and communicate them to management.
• Prepare bid proposals with breakdowns, allowances, alternates, and exclusions.
• Hand off won projects to Project Manager with complete bid files and budget details.
• Maintain cost database and track bid opportunities.
