Job summary

HITT Contracting is seeking an Assistant Project Manager for Mission Critical projects in California. The role focuses on coordinating information, budgets, schedules, and communications to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to quality standards.

Ideal candidates have 2–5 years in commercial construction, familiarity with ProCore, BlueBeam, and JD Edwards, and a bachelor’s degree in construction, engineering, or business (or equivalent experience).

Qualifications

• High school diploma required, four-year degree from an accredited university with a concentration in construction, engineering, or business is strongly preferred
• In lieu of a degree, additional work experience is acceptable
• 2-5 years’ experience in commercial construction, including experience with a commercial general contractor going Mission Critical, Data Center, and/or Clean Room type projects
• Previous experience on commercial job sites strongly preferred
• Passion for construction and our industry; ability to recognize and seek quality
• Ability to master sector/project-specific software systems including Microsoft Office suite (Project, Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint), ProCore, Adobe, BlueBeam, JD Edwards

Responsibilities

• Maintain adherence to safety standards and company policies
• Ensure that required documentation is filed
• Assist in creating and managing project budgets for assigned projects
• Develop pre-construction RFP packages
• Assist in conducting project meetings, setting milestones and owner reports
• Update project schedules and ensure quality control
• Collaborate with project superintendent and site operations team throughout the project life cycle
• Assist in managing the closeout process

The APM is responsible to protect and promote the interest of both the business and client in all matters as well as demonstrate the personal characteristics of a beginner-level leader.
