Job summary

HITT Contracting in Atlanta, GA is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support project teams in delivering on time, within budget and to quality standards. The APM coordinates information flow, assists in scheduling, budgets, RFIs, submittals, and pay applications.

You will work with the project superintendent and site operations, engage in meetings, reporting, and closeout, and grow through two-to-six year learning paths while upholding safety and integrity.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; four-year degree in construction, engineering, or business preferred.
• 2–5 years' experience in commercial construction with a general contractor.
• Proficiency with project management software, MS Office, and construction tools.

Responsibilities

• Maintain adherence to safety standards and ensure required documentation is filed.
• Assist in creating and managing project budgets for assigned projects.
• Develop pre-construction RFP packages and coordinate meetings.
• Update project schedule and manage submittals, RFIs, and pay applications.
• Collaborate with the project superintendent and site operations team through the project life cycle.

The APM is responsible to protect and promote the interest of both the business and client in all matters as well as demonstrate the personal characteristics of a beginner-level leader. While learning paths, growth and promotional opportunity vary, most team members are APMs for two to six years.ResponsibilitiesMaintain adherence to HITT’s standards of safetyEnsure that required documentation is filedAssist in creating and managing project budget for all assigned projectsDevelop pre-construction RFP packageAssist in conducting project meetings, setting milestones and formulating monthly owner reportEstablish job processes (RFIs, submittals, and pay applications) including approving pay applications and negotiating subcontract change ordersUpdate project schedule; ensure project quality control and establish overall project logisticsAssist in managing the closeout processCollaborate with the project superintendent and site operations team throughout the life of the projectQualificationsHigh school diploma required, four-year degree from an accredited university with a concentration in construction, engineering, or business is strongly preferredIn lieu of a degree, additional work experience is acceptable2-5 years’ experience in commercial construction, including experience with a commercial general contractorPrevious experience on commercial job sites strongly preferredPassion for construction and our industry; ability to recognize and seek qualityAbility to master sector/project-specific software systems including but not limited to: Microsoft Office suite (ex.
