The role requires 2+ years in related repair, a valid driver’s license, and basic mechanic tools. Expect daily repairs, safe shop practices, and potential overtime. Bilingual English/Spanish is a bonus.

Commercial Cleaning Systems Diagnostic Technician

Pay Range: $23.00 - $25.00/hour

Monthly Bonus Opportunity: Service Technicians can earn an average of $500+ per month in additional bonus compensation based on performance.

Bonus compensation is not guaranteed and is based on applicable bonus plan requirements and billable hours.

A day in your boots

You start the morning reviewing service orders in the shop queue. A truck-mounted carpet cleaning unit needs a carb adjustment, while a portable extractor is tripping breakers. By midday, you’ve diagnosed a failing ignition coil on a 3-cylinder gas engine, rebuilt a pump on a hard-surface floor machine, and verified airflow on an air scrubber using the manufacturer’s specs. Each job ends with clear notes, an updated service order, and a call or email to the customer with your estimate and repair timeline.

Throughout the day you reference troubleshooting guides and manufacturer repair manuals, use testing equipment confidently, and spot additional service needs before they become bigger problems. You coordinate workload with fellow technicians, keep parts flowing by working with vendors, and help teammates when a second set of hands speeds things up. Your bay stays clean, organized, and safe—PPE on, tools maintained, and productivity and quality goals in sight.

The equipment you’ll master

• 2, 3 & 4 cylinder gas engines and basic automotive systems
• Truck mounted carpet cleaning units
• Portable carpet extractors
• Hard surface floor cleaning machines
• Duct cleaning and deodorizing equipment
• Dehumidifiers, air scrubbers, air movers, HEPA vacuums

What you’ll do

• Diagnose and repair systems/components used across commercial cleaning, restoration, and surface-prep industries
• Use meters, gauges, troubleshooting guides, and manufacturer manuals accurately
• Evaluate and communicate additional service needs to the service department and customers
• Meet or exceed quality and productivity targets
• Create service orders; schedule jobs and maintain appointments in scheduling software
• Communicate with customers in person, by phone, and via email; prepare bids and present estimates
• Order parts and coordinate with vendors
• Coordinate workload and service flow with other technicians and store staff
• Maintain and properly use shop equipment and tools; keep work areas clean and safe

What you bring

• 2+ years’ experience in at least one: commercial cleaning/restoration equipment, small engine or pressure washer repair/maintenance, or vehicle repair/maintenance
• Valid driver license and clean driving record (no DUIs or Careless/Reckless driving on MVR in the past 3 years)
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Own a basic set of mechanic’s tools
• Strong mechanical aptitude, technical skill, and attention to detail
• Efficient diagnostic and problem‑solving abilities
• Safety-first mindset—use safety glasses, hearing protection, and other required PPE
• Ability to focus and deliver quality work on time
• Comfort lifting 50+ lbs. on a regular basis
• Professional appearance; clear written and verbal communication; basic computer skills
• Occasional overtime required
• Bilingual in English/Spanish is a bonus
