Job summary

EMCOR Group, Inc. is seeking a seasoned HVAC technician to maintain and repair large central plant equipment, including chillers 100 tons and larger, with on-site supervision roles.

The candidate will perform testing, start-ups, commissioning, and emergency on-call duties as part of a rotating schedule. Ideal candidates have 5 years of journeyman experience and technical schooling, plus extensive knowledge of HVAC/central plants and EPA certification.

Qualifications

• 5 years of journeyman level work experience and technical schooling.
• EPA certification is required.
• Commercial/industrial HVAC experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair central plant equipment including chillers 100 tons and larger, plus motors, pumps, valves and controls.
• Overhaul of centrifugal chillers is a plus.
• Provide end-to-end testing, programming, start-ups and commissioning.
• Schedule and manage site-wide maintenance, troubleshooting and repair duties.
• Perform daily and monthly preventative maintenance on chillers, cooling towers and central plant equipment.
• Ensure completion of maintenance within the scheduled month and timeframe.
• Maintain positive relationships with customers, vendors and co-workers.
• Attend monthly safety meetings and ensure safety policies are followed.

About Us

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair central plant equipment, including chillers 100 tons and larger, motors, pumps, valves, controls, cooling towers, vane axial fans, and other auxiliary equipment.
• Overhaul of centrifugal chillers a plus.
• Familiar with all aspects of rigging.
• Support the office with recommended repairs from delivery to completion.
• Availability for emergency service calls “on-call” through normal rotation.
• Responsible for end-to-end testing, programming, start-ups, and commissioning.
• Schedule and manage site-wide maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair duties for chillers, cooling towers, and central plant equipment.
• Perform daily and monthly preventative maintenance on all associated equipment of chillers, cooling towers, and central plant equipment.
• Ensure completion of maintenance within the scheduled month and allocated time.
• Maintaining positive relationships with customers, vendors, and co-workers
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of all on-site equipment.
• Attend monthly safety meetings.
• Ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures.
• Work directly with the Chiller Field Supervisor on new and existing customer opportunities or issues.

Qualifications

• 5 years of work experience at the journeyman level and technical schooling.
• Commercial/Industrial air conditioning experience required.
• Knowledge of Chiller, HVAC, and Central Plants.
• HVAC large tonnage field knowledge is required.
• Must be available for emergency service calls “on call” through normal rotation.
• EPA certified.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license.

Geographic Disclosure

Compensation Range: $40 - $90 per hour The hourly rate is determined by the CBA/rate sheet and test results.
