TITLE: Commercial Banking Officer

JOB FAMILY: Commercial Lending

DEPARTMENT: Credit

PAY GRADE & FLSA: 8, Exempt

JOB SUMMARY:

The Commercial Banking Officer will originate and maintain commercial banking relationships. This role will entail identifying potential commercial businesses, interviewing applicants, analyzing data, approving or denying credit requests, managing portfolios, communicating decisions, and closing approved loans.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Oversee entire loan process to ensure that loan closings contain appropriate credit approval.
  2. Support collateral documentation and perfection.
  3. Monitor loan relationships, gather ongoing financial and other information from clients, and correct documentation.
  4. Manage portfolios and ensure annual loan maturities and renewals.
  5. Oversee daily overdrafts, both personal and corporate, within designated limits.
  6. Obtain approval from CLO, CCO, or bank president, as needed.
  7. Attend bank Loan Committee meetings as necessary and present Loan Committee presentations to acquire necessary approval.
  8. Participate in other bank meetings and trainings as requested by supervisors and other bank officers.
  9. Comply with all company or regulatory policies, procedures, and requirements that are applicable to this position.
  10. Foster and preserve a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  11. Additional duties and responsibilities may be required to support the company’s mission, vision, and values.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance or Accounting.
  2. Minimum five years of experience in a financial institution.
  3. Strong analytical and business judgment skills.
  4. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  5. Duties performed in a professional office environment.
