About the Role
As a Commercial Automatic Door Specialist, you will serve as a technical expert responsible for the installation, maintenance, and optimization of complex pedestrian entrance systems and access control hardware. You will play a vital role in ensuring facility security and operational efficiency by delivering high-quality service solutions for a diverse range of commercial and industrial clients.
Responsibilities
- Execute precise installations and troubleshooting of automatic pedestrian doors, low-energy operators, and advanced access control systems.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical or electrical failures in door hardware, including closers, locks, and automated gate components.
- Ensure all service outcomes strictly adhere to safety codes, building regulations, and industry-standard performance benchmarks.
- Provide expert technical guidance to customers, offering cost-effective repair strategies and clear explanations of system functionality.
- Maintain detailed documentation of service activities and equipment performance to support long-term asset reliability.
- Conduct thorough quality inspections on all completed projects to guarantee optimal safety and operational longevity.
- Collaborate with team members to manage complex site requirements, utilizing specialized tools and diagnostic equipment effectively.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in the commercial door service industry.
- Demonstrated proficiency in electrical troubleshooting, low-voltage systems, and mechanical hardware repair.
- Physical capability to perform tasks involving heavy lifting, climbing, and extended periods of manual labor.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to communicate technical solutions clearly to clients.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- High school diploma or equivalent certification.
Preferred Skills
- Current AAADM certification.
- Experience with glass, glazing, or aluminum commercial storefront systems.
- Prior training or experience in welding or industrial dock equipment maintenance.
- Advanced knowledge of integrated access control and security software.
