Job summary

First Chicago Insurance Company seeks a Commercial Auto Bodily Injury Claims Specialist in Chicago, IL. The role handles investigating and settling auto bodily injury claims, including complex liability and coverage-related matters.

You will coordinate with claimants, insureds, and vendors to reach fair closures while managing expenses. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in Commercial Auto Claims Insurance, strong analytical and communication skills, and licensing ability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Commercial Auto Claims Insurance experience.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
• General knowledge of policies, file procedures, state rules and regulations.
• Ability to pass written examinations to become a licensed Claims Adjuster.
• Litigation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review and determine course of action on each file to support final disposition of a loss.
• Investigate, evaluate and settle total loss files for insureds and claimants; obtain signed titles for salvage.
• Work with internal and external customers to develop evidence and establish facts on claims.
• Maintain documentation of file activity including coverage, liability, and damages.
• Organize and prioritize work to ensure prompt conclusion of claims.
• Negotiate first and third-party liability claims after investigation and analysis.
• Prepare and present claim evaluations for settlement authority.
• Notify Underwriting of adverse information uncovered during investigation.
• Comply with unfair claim practices regulations where applicable.
• Interact with vendors maintaining reasonable expenses and company reputation.
• Provide customer service to internal and external customers.
• Handle other duties as assigned.
