Commercial Associate Renewal Underwriter

• Underwrite and negotiate renewals and endorsements for a Commercial portfolio with approximately $10.5M in premiums across 800 policies.
• Lines of business include Package, Automobile, Workers' Compensation, and Umbrella policies, with account premiums generally under $125,000. The role covers various industry segments within our Commercial Insurance portfolio.
• Achieve favorable rates and retention within the assigned territory.
• Underwriting duties include:
  • Streamlining the underwriting process for Commercial accounts.
  • Marketing and servicing accounts according to Chubb guidelines.
  • Developing strong relationships with independent agents, brokers, and overseas counterparts to effectively manage our business.

Qualifications

Skills and Competencies:

• Proven ability to negotiate successfully and develop producer relationships.
• Strong service orientation.
• Knowledge of marketing principles, underwriting, and pricing strategies.
• Solid risk analysis background.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with service staff, loss control, field marketing underwriters, and branch employees.
• Knowledge of emerging hazards, trends, and concepts is a plus.
• Ability to coach and develop peers through peer-to-peer development.
• Deep analytical skills complemented by interpersonal effectiveness to understand customer needs and align them with Chubb solutions.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

One to two years of multi-line underwriting experience preferred.
