Job summary

MWH Constructors is seeking an Assistant Project Manager - Commercial to support control, contracts, coordination and construction of water/wastewater plants and other advanced infrastructure projects in the Portland, OR or Seattle, WA metropolitan areas.

This role focuses on managing contracts, change orders, project controls, risk and finance reporting to ensure accuracy and adherence to company standards. Prior heavy civil experience is required and the team values collaboration and safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in engineering or related field; equivalent combination may be substituted.
• 4+ years of experience in project engineering, site supervision or trade package management in heavy civil/buildings.
• 3+ years as an assistant project manager on heavy civil/buildings construction projects.
• 3+ years of reporting and managing profit/loss on a construction project.
• Familiarity with contract scoping, reading drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Ensure project procedures comply with Prime Contract and Subcontracts; manage residual risk and contract documents.
• Coordinate change orders and cost estimates; develop and submit change order proposals.
• Prepare project correspondence to subcontractors, suppliers and Owner.
• Ensure decisions comply with the Authority Matrix and obtain necessary approvals.
• Lead project risk reviews and maintain the risk log for monthly dashboards.
• Implement and oversee project controls: budgets, cash flow projections and forecasting.
• Consult with legal when needed to mitigate project risk.
• Follow health and safety guidelines to protect all personnel.
