Job summary

Busey Bank in Phoenix, AZ seeks a Special Assets Officer to manage a portfolio of complex commercial loans and maximize recoveries through strategic collection actions and negotiations.

You will develop plans, analyze credits, negotiate terms with borrowers and outside counsel, and report to the Special Assets Manager. Requires 5+ years in special assets, strong negotiation, and knowledge of lending regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience.
• Formal credit training.
• 5+ years of direct special assets experience.
• Requires active NMLS registration where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Develop collection strategies and action plans for problematic loans.
• Prepare detailed analysis and provide recommendations of the collection and action plans.
• Negotiate with borrowers, attorneys, and companies to review and re-structure credit and repayment terms.
• Implement recovery plans that minimize risk and loss to the bank.
• Provide timely and accurate reporting to Special Assets Manager.
• Interact with debtors and outside professionals to pursue the Bank's agenda.
• Minimize out-of-pocket expenses and maximize loan recoveries.
• Ensure BSA Compliance.
