Job summary

Summit Polymers is seeking a Commercial Apprentice (Tooling Technician) to support the production and maintenance of injection molding tooling. You will learn from experienced tooling technicians and develop the skills needed to become a tooling technician.

As an apprentice, you will assist in tooling maintenance, changeovers, and troubleshooting while adhering to safety protocols and quality standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment in Detroit, MI.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and understanding of tools.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Good attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods.
• Willing to work overtime and weekends as needed.

Job Summary:

As a Commercial Apprentice (Tooling Technician), you will be responsible for supporting the production and maintenance of injection molding tooling used in the manufacturing process. You will work closely with our experienced tooling technicians to learn and develop the necessary skills to become a successful tooling technician.
