Job summary

APTIM is seeking a skilled maintenance technician in California to perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, install, service and repair commercial appliances and equipment, including gas lines and electrical connections.

Applicants must have a high school diploma, 4 years of experience, EPA Type 1 certification, a valid California driver’s license, and the ability to read manuals and follow manufacturers’ specs. Excellent communication with customers required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 4 years’ experience in maintenance and repair of commercial/industrial appliances.
• Knowledge of EPA/AQMD regulations for refrigerants.
• Ability to read and follow manufacturers’ specifications and manuals.
• Fluent English required.

Responsibilities

• Preforms preventive maintenance, installs, and connects commercial appliances to power sources and gas lines.
• Disassembles and troubleshoots appliances to determine repairs required.
• Orders necessary repair parts and performs repairs.
• Handles and recovers refrigerants per EPA/AQMD regulations.
• Identifies locations of parts and materials.
• Cross training within department.
• Communicate with customers to identify requirements and complete service orders.
• Participate in employee enhancement programs.
