Job summary

First Judicial District of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia County, seeks a Staff Attorney for the Commerce Program within the Trial Division – Civil. This professional role reports to Judges and the Program Director to handle diverse commercial matters from shareholders to contract disputes.

The position requires a JD from an accredited law school and Pennsylvania Bar admission in good standing, plus at least two years of relevant experience. On-site work with full-time commitment is required.

Qualifications

• JD required and admission to Pennsylvania Bar in good standing.
• Minimum of two years of relevant employment experience.
• Excellent legal writing and organizational skills.
• Extensive knowledge of state and local rules of civil procedure and Pennsylvania commercial law.

Responsibilities

• Conduct legal research and draft judicial orders and opinions in Commerce cases.
• Provide legal advice to Judges and court personnel on commercial law issues.
• Conduct settlement and case management conferences.
• Attend and participate in significant court events, including trials.
• Manage cases within the Commerce Program.
• Perform related work as required by the Judges and Director.
