Job summary

Booz Allen Hamilton seeks an experienced Cloud Systems Platform and Infrastructure Engineer to lead the modernization of DoD C2 infrastructure. You will architect, deploy, and harden containerized foundations spanning data centers, the tactical edge, and cloud components.

You will drive CI/CD, GitOps, and security hardening across environments, coordinating with architects and engineers to meet mission reliability goals while maintaining compliance and security posture.

Qualifications

• 8+ years designing, deploying, and maintaining production infrastructure and C2 platforms.
• Experience operating Kubernetes at production scale with cluster deployment and security hardening.
• Proficiency with CI/CD and GitOps pipelines using GitLab CI, Jenkins, and ArgoCD or Flux.
• In-depth knowledge of Infrastructure as Code with Terraform and Ansible.
• Experience implementing and operating observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/OpenTelemetry).
• Ability to obtain Secret clearance and meet DoD security requirements.
• DoD 8570 IAT Level II Security+ CE certification is required.

You Have:

• 8+ years of experience in infrastructure or platform engineering, including technical leadership on production systems
• Experience operating Kubernetes at production scale, including cluster deployment, day-2 operations, upgrades, and security hardening
• Experience with CI / CD and GitOps pipelines using tools such as GitLab CI, Jenkins, and ArgoCD or Flux
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code and configuration management using Terraform and Ansible
• Experience implementing and operating an observability stack such as Pro met heus, Grafana, and ELK or OpenTele met ry
• Experience designing and deploying systems in secure, air-gapped, or DDIL environments
• Ability to translate mission and reliability requirements into resilient, automated platform designs
• Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a technology field, or 6+ years of experience in designing, deploying, and maintaining mission-critical C2 platforms and infrastructure in lieu of a degree
• DoD 8570 IAT Level II Security+ CE certification

Nice If You Have:

• Experience with service mesh technologies, such as Istio, Linkerd, or Consul, for traffic management, mTLS, and observability
• Experience deploying and sustaining containerized platforms in DoD environments such as Platform One, Big Bang, or Iron Bank
• Experience engineering for the tactical edge and hardening deployments for DDIL and disconnected operations
• Experience with C2, ISR, or other mission-critical DoD systems and their operational constraints
• Experience implementing DevSecOps practices, including container scanning, policy enforcement, such as OPA, Gatekeeper, or Kyverno, and STIG compliance
• Experience with secrets management and zero-t rus t patterns such as HashiCorp Vault or SPIFFE / SPIRE
• Experience achieving and maintaining an Authority to Operate ( ATO ) , continuous ATO, or RMF accreditation
• Secret clearance
• Certified Kubernetes Administrator ( CKA ) certification
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Asso cia te or equivalent cloud certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $112,900.00 to $257,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
