Job summary

Ultipro is seeking a Floor Technician to maintain clean and safe floor areas across the facility. Responsibilities include cleaning carpets and hard floors, moving and replacing furniture, and ensuring equipment is properly maintained.

Required are a high school diploma, 2 years of floor-cleaning experience, and a valid driver’s license. The role also involves operating pallet jacks and tuggers, with competitive benefits offered.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, strip and refinish hard floors following procedures.
• Vacuum and scrub carpeted surfaces as needed.

• Monitor supplies and request cleaning solutions as needed.
• Keep floor machines clean and in working condition.
• Handle cleaning chemicals with proper PPE and guidelines.
• Report maintenance or repair needs to supervisor.
• Perform warehouse recycling and monitor trash disposal.
• Operate forklifts, ride-on pallet jacks, and tuggers.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

As a Floor Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring that all floor areas of the facility are kept clean, safe and well-maintained. Your duties will include cleaning and maintaining carpets, hard surface floors and any other floor areas.

• Performs sweeping, mopping, stripping and refinishing of hard flooring surfaces following standard operating procedures.
• Vacuums and scrubs carpeted surfaces following standard operating procedure.
• Moves furniture and other objects as needed in order to complete floor care and returns all moved items to their original place upon completion.
• Monitors supply and requests additional cleaning solutions as needed.
• Ensures all floor machines are kept clean and in proper working condition.
• Handles various types of cleaning chemicals in compliance with established guidelines and utilizing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Reports any conditions requiring maintenance attention or repair to immediate supervisor.
• Performs warehouse recycling activities and monitors trash disposal
• Operates forklifts, ride-on pallet jacks, and tuggers
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education, Experience and Certification

• REQUIRED: High School Diploma or equivalent
• REQUIRED: 2 years' experience cleaning floors
• REQUIRED: Valid Driver's License

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Working knowledge of all types of flooring surfaces, appropriate care, and proper use of chemicals and equipment.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to comprehend and follow detailed instructions in English.
• Working knowledge of warehouse safety and material-handling equipment.
• Previous experience using a ride on pallet jack and tugger
