Job Summary

The Security Developer, a senior role within Comcast's Security Organizations, develops and executes strategies for cybersecurity solutions supporting our customers. Responsibilities include delivering software products aligned with Security Services roadmaps, requirements grooming, collaborating with engineering teams, testing, validation, operational handover, and technical leadership. The role is vital within our data pipeline/engineering team, which relies on event-driven data pipelines for security monitoring, detection, and investigation. The candidate should have deep technical knowledge of application, host, cloud, and network security tools, familiarity with industry standards, and the ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical teams.

Core Responsibilities

• Build high-volume event collection, data processing, and storage systems to enable data-driven applications.
• Develop security event monitoring strategies using standard and advanced techniques, integrating OSINT and related data sources.
• Establish measurement and reporting methodologies with dashboards and reports to manage security program performance.
• Analyze technologies, processes, and services to develop new security solutions for customers.
• Partner with product teams to provide technical guidance.

Skills and Qualifications

• Strong communication skills to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.
• Experience with streaming platforms.
• Proficiency in Python or Rust, SQL, Docker/Kubernetes.
• Experience with SIEM and analytics platforms like Splunk, Elastic, LogRhythm, Databricks.
• Knowledge of networking tools such as netflow, packet capture, IDS/IPS, Bro/Zeek.
• Experience with Linux CLI and shell scripting.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or related field.
