Qualifications

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must have or qualify for Hawaii driver’s license and meet driving position standards.
  • Must pass Edison Electric Institute POSS.

Job Function

Trains to perform the duties of a Combustion Turbine Operator.

Essential Functions
  • Trains to perform the duties of a Combustion Turbine Operator.
  • Attends instructional classes as scheduled.
  • Prepares for qualifying performance tests for Combustion Turbine Operator.
  • Maintains proper housekeeping.
  • Performs unskilled manual tasks as directed.
Other Responsibilities
  • Performs similar and incidental duties as required.
  • Drives vehicles and operates forklift as required.
  • Assume an emergency management role, as assigned, and perform specific assignments or functions, as needed, in an event of an emergency, not to include routine trouble calls/callouts.
Basic Qualifications
  • Ability to identify and distinguish the difference between colors, including shades, hues, and tints. (for electrician related positions).
  • Must be able to pass minimum requirements for respirator use.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, and move items such as sand bags, salt bags, chemicals, supplies, etc. weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Must have or be able to qualify for a State of Hawaii driver’s license. Must meet the standards for driving positions stated in the Hiring Standards for Driving Positions policy. These standards may be adjusted periodically to meet business and safety objectives.
  • Must pass the Edison Electric Institute Plant Operator Selection System (POSS).
    • Note: Employees who have taken and passed the Differential Aptitude Test (DAT) do not need to take the POSS.
  • Must pass the Job Sample Test.
