Job summary

EXCEL Group is seeking an experienced Combo Welder to join our team and help ensure the structural integrity of welded components across industrial projects.

The ideal candidate has experience with Stick, MIG, TIG, and Flux Core welding, reads blueprints, and adheres to safety standards on-site. Compensation includes $50 per hour, $735 per week in per diem, and opportunities for growth after three months onsite. We value quality workmanship and teamwork.

Job description

EXCEL Group is seeking an experienced Combo Welder to join our team. As a Combo Welder, you will play a vital role in ensuring the structural integrity and quality of welded components across various industrial projects.

Hiring for VG CP2 in Cameron LA

Combo Welder $50 per hour

$735 a week Per Diem

Work Schedule: 12 days on, 2 days off

$1000 after 3 successful months onsite

• Per Weld incentive for qualified welds:


• Socket Weld $10


• .5\"-8\" $25


• 10\"-16\" $50


• 18\"-30\" $100


• 32\"-up $150

Responsibilities:

• Perform welding tasks using a combination of different techniques, such as Stick, MIG, TIG, and Flux Core, depending on project requirements.


• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols to comprehend welding specifications and assembly needs.


• Fabricate and assemble metal structures, equipment, and piping systems through the precision welding of components.


• Select the appropriate welding methods, materials, and equipment based on the type and thickness of metals.


• Prepare surfaces for welding by cleaning, grinding, and removing scale, slag, and other impurities.


• Securely position and clamp workpieces using jigs, fixtures, or other positioning tools.


• Safely operate welding equipment to create precise and high-quality welds.


• Inspect welded joints for defects, ensuring compliance with welding codes and industry standards.


• Collaborate with other tradespeople, such as fitters and inspectors, to achieve accurate assembly and installation.


• Assist in setting up and laying out welding projects, ensuring proper alignment and fit-up.


• Adhere strictly to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Qualifications:

• Welding certification from a recognized program is preferred.


• Proven experience as a Combo Welder in industrial environments.


• Proficiency in multiple welding techniques, including Stick, MIG, TIG, and Flux Core.


• Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols.


• Comprehensive understanding of metallurgy, welding processes, and industry standards.


• Keen attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality welds.


• Physical capability to work in various positions, including bending, stooping, and lifting heavy materials.


• Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.


• Thorough knowledge of safety regulations and procedures related to welding.
