Job description

We are now hiring Combo Pipe Welders for a company in New Braunfels, TX. MUST have combo welding experience. Please submit your resume to this posting and call us at 830-629-2525 ASAP!
1st shift Monday - Friday 10 hr days with possible overtime on Saturdays.

Pay: Up to $30/hr DOE
NO PER DIEM or travel pay. These are long-term jobs. These positions are in New Braunfels, TX.
MUST have 3+ years previous welding experience, welding TIG & STIK on Carbon & Stainless.
Testing:
  • We give a 2” sch 80 6-G carbon steel welding test,5P root with a 7018 fill.
  • And a 2-1/2 sch 80 6-G stainless steel welding test, purged root with a 304 fill. Both tests are sent to an X-ray lab for nondestructive testing.
Summary:
  • Welder should be capable of a variety of welding techniques, preferably skilled in several different welding process.
  • A welder is also required to assist the fitter and a variety of other tasks the supervisor deems necessary.
  • The welder is required to pass the 6G pipe test.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:
  • Welder shall know the functionality of welding machines and welding processes, including SMAW, GTAW, and GMAW, able to use a cutting torch, Plasma cutter, and various mechanical equipment.
  • Know filler metals and their applications.
  • Knowledgeable with pipe and structural steel characteristics.
  • Weld in flat horizontal and overhead positions.
  • Welders will also be required to weld from elevated and or awkward positions.
  • Welders should have an understanding of Blueprints, able to assist fitters.
  • Demonstrate good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Operations of forklifts and cranes are a plus.
  • Quality and safety are essential.
  • The welder will also be required to assist with other shop and yard duties including cleaning up and organizing work and staging areas.
