A leading laboratory is offering an opportunity for a Combined Laboratory / X-Ray Technologist II at the Milk River Health Centre, Alberta. The successful candidate will oversee laboratory and imaging operations while ensuring quality patient care. This role demands strong technical expertise, teamwork, and excellent communication skills, with minimum qualifications of an accredited diploma and relevant experience.

Relocation assistance may be available with a Return of Service Agreement.Milk River Laboratory is located in the Milk River Health Centre and serves the town as well as its surrounding area. Milk River, Alberta is located 60 mins from Lethbridge, Alberta and 15 minutes from the Coutts, Montana border. Milk River is only a 27-minute drive from Writing on Stone Provincial Park, housing the largest concentration of petroglyphs in North America and an astonishing landscape. The Milk River Golf course offers well maintained greens, a club house and restaurant. The Milk River Health Centre is staffed with an experienced team of laboratory and x-ray professionals that offer strong patient focused service to their community. As a CLXT II, this opportunity allows you to mentor and supervise the day-to-day operation of department staff and services in their area. You will be responsible for the coordination, organization and operation of the site Laboratory and Diagnostic Imaging departments. You will be responsible for monitoring the collecting, analyzing and reporting of biological specimens, conducting X-ray examinations, ECGs, and reporting results. You have experience with laboratory, diagnostic imaging and cardiology procedures. With a customer service focused approach, and your strong coordination, organization, and communication skills, you build productive and respectful customer relations and take responsibility for customer satisfaction. You have an ability to influence change by encouraging others, building positive, respectful, and collaborative working relationships.
As a Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technologist II, you will direct and supervise the day-to-day operation of department staff and services in their area. You will be responsible for the coordination, organization and operation of the site Laboratory and Diagnostic Imaging departments. You will also be responsible to perform site specific manual and automated laboratory procedures, diagnostic imaging exams, cardiology procedures and related duties following established standards and practice defined by the Alberta College of Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technologists (ACCLXT), College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA) and Health Professions Act.
Completion of diploma from an accredited program in Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technology (CLXT).Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Combined Laboratory and X-ray Technologists (ACCLXT).
Additional Required Qualifications:The successful applicant must have a minimum 5 years technical experience, a strong sense of teamwork and possess excellent communication skills. Strong technical skills and adaptability is imperative in this position.
Preferred Qualifications:Proficient computer skills with knowledge of Laboratory Information System, recent phlebotomy and bench experience, leadership and other related training/courses are all assets.
