A leading health centre is seeking a Combined Laboratory / X-Ray Technologist I to join their interdisciplinary team. Raymond Laboratory is located in the Raymond Health Centre and serves the town as well as its surrounding area. This position would also serve the towns of Milk River and Magrath. Raymond, Alberta is located 30 mins from Lethbridge, Alberta and 1 hour from the Coutts, Montana border. Raymond is a community which includes a wide variety of recreational options including parks, sports & amateur theatre. The Raymond Health Centre is staffed with an experienced team of laboratory and x-ray professionals that offer strong patient focused service to their community.As a Combined Lab/X-Ray Tech I (CLXT I), you will be a member of an interdisciplinary team where you will be responsible for providing exemplary patient care by applying regional policies to perform procedures in both the laboratory and in diagnostic imaging areas. You will be responsible for the collection, analyzing and reporting of biological specimens, conducting X-ray examinations, ECGs, and reporting results. You have experience with laboratory, diagnostic imaging and cardiology procedures.With a customer service focused approach, and your strong coordination, organization, and communication skills, you build productive and respectful customer relations and take responsibility for customer satisfaction. You have an ability to influence change by encouraging others, building positive, respectful, and collaborative working relationships. Relocation assistance may be available with a Return of Service Agreement.
As a Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technologist I, you will perform procedures in both the laboratory and in diagnostic imaging, typically in rural sites. You will work as a member of the inter-professional team and be responsible for collecting and analyzing biological specimens, conducting X-ray examinations, ECGs and reporting results. Your responsibilities include preparing patients, venipuncture and micropuncture, routine equipment maintenance, maintaining supplies and performing quality control procedures as required.
Completion of diploma from an accredited program in Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technology (CLXT).Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Combined Laboratory and X-ray Technologists (ACCLXT).
Additional Required Qualifications:The successful applicant must have a strong sense of teamwork and possess excellent communication skills. Strong technical skills and adaptability is imperative in this position.
Preferred Qualifications:Proficient computer skills with knowledge of Laboratory Information Systems, as well as recent phlebotomy and bench experience is an asset.
