Job summary

The City of Santa Clara is hiring a Combination Inspector in the Community Development Department. The inspector will perform building, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical inspections and may be assigned to Code Enforcement, Building, Electrical, Permit Center and Plumbing & Mechanical programs.

This is a new requirement and applicants must submit a cover letter and resume. The annual salary range is $128,868.72 to $164,401.68, and the position may be filled at or near the minimum.

Qualifications

• Five years of journey person experience in building construction or related trades.
• Three years of experience as a Combination Inspector in a city or county inspection jurisdiction.
• Possession of a California contractor license (General B-1, Electrical C-10, Plumbing C-36, or HVAC C-20) for at least two years.

Responsibilities

• Perform building, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical inspections.
• Inspections may be assigned to Code Enforcement, Building, Electrical, Permit Center, and Plumbing & Mechanical programs or specialties.
