Job summary

Makena Golf & Beach Club in Maui seeks a Bartender/Server (Casual) to join the Food and Beverage Service Department. This role requires at least 1 year of bartending experience, knowledge of HACCP, and strong wine/beverage expertise.

You will greet members, craft cocktails, manage POS transactions accurately, and maintain bar cleanliness with a focus on exceptional service and timely beverage delivery.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of bartending experience in a fast paced, high end establishment.
• Knowledge of HACCP & local food safety standards; possesses or can obtain State Food Safety Certificate.
• Robust knowledge of wines and beverages.
• Extraordinary attention to detail, quality and service.

Responsibilities

• Provide a dining experience consistent with the club standards in all areas of member service.
• Ability to execute unique craft cocktails.
• Greet all members and guests, seat them, explain the menu as needed as well as daily specials and beverages.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of bar and storage areas at all times.
• Follow recipes for cocktails, syrups and house-made ingredients.
• Comply with laws and regulations, including pour ratios.
• Enter transactions into POS and bill members accurately.
• Educate yourself with extensive knowledge of all beverages and ingredients.
• Demonstrate urgency in responding to members' needs during interactions.
• Ensure timely delivery of food and beverages.
• Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of wine and serving techniques.
• Provide wine and food pairing recommendations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

This role will be located at one of Discovery Land Company's locations: Makena Golf & Beach Club, set on Maui, HI.

Makena is seeking a Bartender/Server (Casual) to join the Food and Beverage Service Department.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide a dining experience consistent with the standards of the club in all areas of member service.
• Ability to execute unique craft cocktails.
• Greet all members and guests politely and promptly, seat them, explain the menu as needed as well as daily specials and beverages.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of bar/bar storage and other work areas at all times.
• Follow recipes for cocktails, syrups, and all house-made ingredients.
• Laws and regulations are to be adhered to at all times; including but not limited to pour ratio.
• Entering all transactions accordingly into POS system, and charging members accounts accurately.
• Education yourself with extensive knowledge of all beverages and ingredients.
• Demonstrate a sense of urgency for responding to members' needs during all interactions.
• Ensure timely delivery of food and beverages.
• Comprehensive knowledge of wine and serving techniques.
• Knowledge of food/wine pairing recommendations.
• Any other duties as assigned.

• Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Long hours may be required due to business demands.
• Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to deliver service to members, guests, and team members.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds.

Pay

• $32.79/hr
