Job description

Opportunity (Part-Time): Combat Search and Rescue (CSAR) Subject Matter Expert (SME)

Bottom Line Up Front: Hoplite Group is seeking an experienced Combat Search and Rescue (CSAR) SME to support U.S. Government efforts in advancing full-spectrum operational capacity through the development of a CSAR capability for a partner nation’s military force.

Location: Remote support (CONUS) and forward engagements (OCONUS)

Level of Effort:

  1. Non-travel months: Approximately 40 hours/month.
  2. Engagement: First in-person partner nation engagement scheduled for 13–17 July 2025 (Approximately 100 hours/month during engagement months).
  3. Post-Engagement: Support as needed.

Availability: Immediate

Objective: Facilitate a Capabilities Based Assessment to support resource requirements determination to establish a CSAR capability using global best practices across the DOTMLPF-P framework. The SME will help define the scope, identify solutions, and provide a methodology for future analysis.

Required Qualifications/Skills:

  • Retired O-5/O-6 officer with experience in U.S. military CSAR operations, planning, and policy.
  • Experience developing CSAR training strategies, doctrine, and functional concepts.
  • Knowledge and experience in CSAR training from basic to senior officer levels across Army, Navy, Air Force, and Special Operations Forces.
  • Familiarity with NATO CSAR interoperability standards.
