Job summary

LGC Biosearch Technologies in Alexandria, Minnesota, seeks a Consumables Manager – Columns to lead a cross-functional team responsible for manufacturingColumn consumables for internal and external customers. You will partner with the Site Director to align operations with procedures and regulatory requirements.

This role supervises staff, drives continuous improvement, and monitors OTIF, RFT, and TAT metrics while planning workspace, equipment, and personnel to sustain high-quality output.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, business administration, Quality Control, or related field or equivalent experience
• 5 years of demonstrated work experience in a related field including management of manufacturing teams
• Experience working in an ISO 9001 or ISO 13485 certified QMS environment
• Lean or Continuous Improvement concepts knowledge/training
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and inventory management systems
• Strong attention to detail and leadership skills
• Experience hiring, training, leading and developing employees

Responsibilities

• Participate in or manage hiring of staff to complete assigned work
• Ensure staff training on required procedures and verify completion
• Prioritize team work and align with company/customer needs
• Manage shop orders, due dates, and equipment maintenance
• Coordinate with internal customers and suppliers for efficient resource use
• Maintain up-to-date work instructions for standardized processes
• Provide leadership through evaluations, coaching, and performance management
• Identify and implement continuous improvements
• Plan workspace, equipment, and personnel needs
• Monitor OTIF, RFT, and TAT metrics and drive improvements
• Apply financial discipline to manufacturing to improve margins
• Recommend resources to meet objectives
• Review workloads to maximize efficiency
• Maintain safe, organized work environment
• Ensure compliance with Safety and Quality processes
