Job summary

Embark Recruiting Solutions is seeking an Electrical/Electronic Designer in Columbus, OH to design and program industrial electrical panels/cabinets per custom project specs. The role includes PLC/HMI programming, testing, and commissioning with a focus on quality and safety.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years experience in PLC-based design, familiarity with AutoCAD, and strong teamwork, detail orientation, and problem-solving abilities. Local candidates preferred for a fast-paced shop environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor degree preferred or Associates/technical degree with proven work experience.
Two years’ experience design of PLC based systems.
Ability to program and troubleshoot PLC programs.
Prior experience designing electrical schematics and panels with AutoCAD or equivalent software.
Ability to work well with a team.
Willingness to learn.
Strong mechanical skills and aptitude.
Excellent organizational, problem solving, and follow-through skills.

Responsibilities

Rudimentary programing of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and HMIs, Allen-Bradley experience preferred.
Work with other team members to test and commission projects.
Create electrical drawings and panel designs including bill of materials.
Monitor the quality of electrical panels to ensure all workmanship is performed to specifications and standards
Perform required unit updates and modifications prior to unit shipment as needed.
Control systems must be compliant with best Electrical practices and required codes.
