What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Conduct forensic audits of employers to support criminal investigations, ensuring proper payroll reporting. This includes obtaining, documenting, interpreting, and analyzing financial, banking, tax, employment, payroll, and other records to calculate premiums owed or determine employer-employee relationships.
  • Conduct and document interviews with subjects, witnesses, and persons of interest, and communicate with involved parties such as investigative staff, legal representatives, and prosecutors.
  • Assist in investigative fieldwork and record gathering to support investigations.
  • Provide testimony at criminal and administrative proceedings, including criminal trials, civil proceedings, grand jury, and audit meetings.
  • Utilize self-defense skills and techniques in response to aggressive behavior.

Qualifications include completion of an associate core program in criminology, criminal justice, or law enforcement, with 18 months of experience in criminal investigations involving field interviews, surveillance, evidence gathering, and related research, or forensic accounting/auditing with similar experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A valid driver’s license is required if operating a state vehicle. Final candidates must pass a background check.
