Job summary

Precision Healthcare Specialists seeks a compassionate Physician Assistant (PA-C) to join our colorectal surgery team. The PA will collaborate with colorectal surgeons to provide care throughout treatment, including office visits, pre-operative and post-operative care, and ongoing follow-up.

The ideal candidate excels in a fast-paced surgical setting, demonstrates strong clinical and communication skills, and can work independently while coordinating with physicians, nurses, and the care team.

Qualifications

• PA-C certification and state licensure required
• NCCPA certification
• BLS certification
• DEA registration or eligibility to obtain
• Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and with a multidisciplinary team
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Comfortable in a fast-paced surgical practice
• Proficiency with electronic medical records and standard computer applications

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and manage patients in outpatient colorectal surgery.
• Obtain comprehensive medical histories and perform physical examinations.
• Develop treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physician.
• Assist with pre-operative and post-operative patient management.
• Provide follow-up care and monitor recovery.
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, medications, procedures, and follow-up.
• Order and interpret laboratory tests, imaging, and diagnostics.
• Prescribe medications within licensure; perform office-based procedures.
• Maintain accurate EMR documentation and coordinate with care teams.
• Recognize changes in patient condition and escalate as needed.
