Job summary

Orlando Health – Health Central Hospital is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APN/PA) to collaborate with physicians in the Colon/Rectal Surgery department. Located in Ocoee, FL, the role involves inpatient and outpatient management, wound care, and perioperative duties in a high-volume surgical service line.

The position requires NP/PA credentials, FL APRN license with national certs, and current BLS; acute care certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• MN or MSN or DNP or PhD degree in nursing.
• Graduate of accredited physician assistant program.
• APRN license in the state of Florida with national advanced certification.
• Maintains current BLS certification. Acute care certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assesses the physical and psychosocial status of patients and develops a plan with the interdisciplinary team.
• Inpatient management, consultations, and co-management of surgical patients.
• Surgically close wounds, perform drainage and debridement with surgeon nearby.
• Scrub in the operating room with the collaborating surgeon.
• Prescribe medications and participate in quality initiatives for patient care.
• Participate in rounds and on-call rotations as required.
