Job summary

VA St. Louis Health Care System is recruiting a board-certified Colorectal Surgeon to deliver comprehensive surgical care for benign and malignant colorectal diseases. The role encompasses outpatient, inpatient, and operative care, including general surgery call and education of trainees.

The candidate must be proficient in open, laparoscopic, robotic, and endoscopic techniques and be eligible for a VA faculty appointment with an established academic affiliate partner of VASTLHCS.

Qualifications

• Board-certified colorectal surgeon
• MD or DO from an approved school
• Current full and unrestricted medical license in the US
• Eligible for VA faculty appointment
• Proficiency in English (spoken and written)

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of colorectal diseases.
• Perform open, laparoscopic, robotic and endoscopic colorectal procedures.
• Lead surgical teams and supervise residents and trainees.
• Participate in on-call general surgery coverage.
• Engage in teaching, committees and clinical research as applicable.
