Job summary

CPS HR Consulting seeks experienced Colorado-based Workplace Investigators to support public sector clients. This project-based W-2 consulting opportunity is ideal for seasoned investigators and employment law professionals focused on fair, objective investigations.

Investigators serve as trusted third-party professionals helping agencies address harassment, discrimination, retaliation, misconduct, and other employee relations matters.

Qualifications

• Licensed attorney in good standing with the Colorado Bar OR active Colorado PI license (DORA).
• Public sector/government experience.
• Experience conducting workplace investigations (harassment, discrimination, retaliation, misconduct).
• Experience preparing written investigative reports.
• Union environment experience preferred.
• Neutral, independent investigations preferred.
• Background in employment or labor relations or mediation desirable.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage workplace investigations for government and public-sector organizations.
• Conduct intake meetings and develop investigation plans.
• Identify witnesses and evidence; conduct interviews with complainants, respondents, witnesses.
• Review documentation, records, policies, and other materials.
• Assess credibility and apply appropriate standards of evidence.
• Prepare comprehensive investigative reports with factual findings and defensible conclusions.
• Manage multiple investigations and meet timelines.
• Maintain neutrality, confidentiality, professionalism.
