Job summary

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson (JMT) is seeking a Water Resources Project Manager for Colorado to lead drainage and transportation projects along the Front Range. You will manage CDOT drainage design, coordinate with Mile High Flood District and Denver-area agencies, mentor junior staff, and cultivate strong client relationships in the Denver metro area.

The role requires a Colorado P.E. license, 7+ years in drainage engineering, and hands-on experience with Open Roads Designer, HEC-RAS/HEC-HMS,

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited civil engineering degree.
• Colorado P.E. license or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• 7+ years in drainage engineering.
• 2+ years design oversight and mentoring junior staff.
• Experience with CDOT drainage design for transportation projects.
• Familiar with CDOT criteria and Mile High Flood District standards.
• Experience with Open Roads Designer and Open Roads Drainage.
• HEC-RAS 1D/2D and HEC-HMS experience.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage CDOT drainage reports, hydrologic analyses, and PS&E drainage design.
• Lead project scopes, schedules, and budgets.
• Coordinate with subconsultants to develop project plans and fees.
• Create and maintain project schedules.
• Mentor junior staff and provide technical leadership.
• Build relationships with CDOT and local agencies.
• Prepare progress reports and review invoices.
• Support marketing via proposals and interviews.
