The Office of the Attorney General in Colorado seeks a Compliance Specialist II to support POST compliance across basic, reserve, and refresher academies. You will perform inspections, review documentation, and coordinate with SME committees to ensure adherence to POST Rules.

Qualified candidates will have five years of compliance or law enforcement experience, knowledge of statutes, and may qualify via education substituted for experience. Travel 30–50% required; state residency is required.

Qualifications

• Five years of relevant experience conducting compliance reviews, inspections, or law enforcement as the main function of your job.
• This experience must include utilizing rules, statutes, and/or laws to determine compliance standards.
• Education may substitute for up to four years; applicants must demonstrate at least one year of relevant experience.
• Submit transcripts if qualifying under Education and Experience; unofficial transcripts acceptable.
• Foreign degrees require translation/evaluation for credit.

Responsabilités

• Conduct announced and unannounced inspections of Colorado Law Enforcement Training Academies to determine POST rule compliance.
• Attend SME meetings, edit forms, and follow up on SME action items for committees.
• Review academy applications and content for rule adherence and approve instructor training programs.
• Track full skills trainings and determine eligibility for certification; proctor POST exams.
• Prepare reports for the Compliance Manager, Academy Directors, and Chiefs.
