Job summary

SKIMS is seeking a Color Development Manager to lead end-to-end color development for multiple product categories. You will partner with Design, Materials, Product Development, Production, and Sourcing to ensure color accuracy and on-time execution from concept to bulk production.

The ideal candidate has a strong technical background in color, excellent organizational and communication skills, and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Textile Design, Textile Science, Fashion Design, Product Development, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in color development, textile development, materials development or related apparel function.
• Strong knowledge of textile color development, dyeing processes, fabric construction, and material behavior.
• Experience evaluating lab dips, strike-offs, yarn dyes, prints, trims and bulk color.
• Strong visual color acuity and color theory knowledge; Hue/Munsell test ideal.
• Experience with domestic and international mills, vendors, and manufacturing partners.
• Know-how of color measurement tools; Pantone and Archroma familiarity preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to provide actionable feedback.
• Proficiency with PLM, Adobe Suite, Airtable, MS Office; color management software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end color development from standards to bulk production.
• Translate color direction into production standards for fabrics, trims, and components.
• Review lab dips, strike-offs, yarn dyes, prints, trims for accuracy and consistency.
• Provide clear color feedback to mills, vendors, and suppliers.
• Maintain color standards and liaise across Design, Materials, Product Development, Production, and Sourcing.
• Identify color risks and propose feasible solutions balancing creativity and feasibility.
• Own color development calendars and documentation; track milestones.
