Job summary

Colonialkc's Children's Ministry is seeking a Part-Time childcare provider to support infants through elementary-aged children during Sunday services, Bible studies, and special events. You will welcome families, supervise children, lead or assist with age-appropriate activities, and ensure safety and positive communication with caregivers.

The role emphasizes Christ-centered care and alignment with Colonial’s beliefs.

Qualifications

• Personal relationship with Jesus Christ and commitment to Colonial’s ministry and essential beliefs.
• Experience working with children; patient, dependable, flexible, and caring.
• Ability to complete required background screening, child protection training, and CPR/First Aid training as directed.

• Care for and actively supervise children, responding to their physical, emotional, and developmental needs.
• Lead or assist with age-appropriate lessons, crafts, play, and activities.

Position Summary

Provide safe, nurturing, Christ-centered childcare for infants through elementary-aged children during Sunday services, Bible studies, and special church events. Help children feel welcomed and loved while supporting Colonial Kids programming and families.

• Lead or assist with age-appropriate lessons, crafts, play, and activities.
• Welcome families and communicate positively with parents and caregivers.
• Follow classroom procedures, child protection policies, and safety guidelines; promptly report concerns.
• Work cooperatively with staff and volunteers; arrive prepared and attend required meetings and training.

Hours vary based on Sunday services, weekday Bible studies, and special events. Classroom assignments may include different age groups. This position is not eligible for Colonial’s regular employee benefits or paid time off, except as required by applicable law or benefit plan terms.

Working Conditions

Work involves standing, walking, bending, sitting on the floor, active play, and lifting children up to 35 pounds.
