Bronson Colon and Rectal Surgery Specialists – Battle Creek, MI, is seeking a dynamic colon and rectal surgeon to join a well-established practice. The role includes clinic, endoscopy lab, and surgery with a 1:4 CRS call rotation and potential for academic collaboration with Western Michigan University School of Medicine.

Board certified or board eligible, fellowship trained in colon and rectal surgery, with a competitive salary, signing bonus or residency stipend, and full benefits.

Qualifications

• Medical degree and 2 years of direct or intern experience required.
• Current Medical License in the state of Michigan.
• Current DEA and DPS Certificate of Registration.
• Maintain all requirements for medical staff privileges.
• Knowledge of professional medical principles, procedures, and techniques.
• Thorough knowledge of pharmacological agents used in patient treatment.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills with proper telephone etiquette.
• Professional and tactful demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Provides medical patient care by examining and treating clinical patients.
• Educates patients on wellness and prevention with materials.
• Determines referrals based on exam and patient needs.
• Assesses urgency of follow-ups and referrals.
• Exercises final medical judgment in health care matters.
• Prescribes treatment and clinical drugs.
• Orders studies, tests, and ancillary services.
• Documents all services in patient medical record.
• Reviews long-term cases requiring ongoing care.
• Consults with Medical Director and staff on care and education.
• Participates in process improvement and continuing education.
• Oversees mid-level and nursing staff as assigned.
• Assists with patient complaints and inquiries.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient information.
