Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine Department of Surgery is seeking a Colon and Rectal Surgeon to join its team with a dual appointment at Loyola University Medical Center (LUMC) and the Edward Hines, Jr. VA Hospital. The clinical program includes treatment of benign and malignant colorectal disease, inflammatory bowel diseases, anorectal conditions, and functional disorders. Collaboration with oncologists, urogynecologists, gynecologic oncologists, and gastroenterologists is robust. Competence with laparoscopy and robotic surgery is expected, and an interest in endoscopy is desirable.
The program involves multidisciplinary participation with pelvic floor disorder and GI oncology teams. Candidates should be board certified/eligible in Colon and Rectal Surgery and General Surgery, demonstrating dedication to clinical excellence, teaching, scholarly activity, and institutional service. Teaching and mentoring residents is essential, and clinical research is encouraged. Academic rank and salary depend on experience, with potential leadership opportunities within the division.
