Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is adding a Colorectal Surgeon to the group at NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem. The Hospital is part of the NYC Health + Hospitals. Harlem Hospital is a designated Level 1 Trauma Center and is recognized for providing centers of excellence in the areas of Bariatric Surgery, Breast Imaging and Sexual Assault Forensics. Our teams provide services for nearly 213,000 outpatient visits, more than 83,000 emergency room visits and over 13,000 inpatient admissions annually. The hospital maintains a strong academic affiliation with Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons.

The primary function is to provide comprehensive, compassionate quality care to the patients of Health and Hospitals/Harlem. Under supervision of the Department Chairperson with broad latitude for independent judgement and initiative, the Staff Physician is an integral part of the medical team at the facility. They are expected to take a leading role in the delivery of health care services to patients in addition to being responsible for the supervision of the advanced practice practitioner staff.

The position works collaboratively with other physicians and management of all plastic surgery patients in the Department.

  • Manage all colorectal cases including colonoscopy and proctology and work collaboratively alongside other physicians in the department.
  • Provide direct clinical care to both inpatients and outpatients, ensuring comprehensive treatment for a range of colorectal conditions.
  • Perform diagnostic procedures, surgeries, and post-operative care for patients with colorectal diseases.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement personalized treatment plans for each patient.
  • Participate in ongoing care coordination to optimize patient outcomes and ensure continuity of care across the treatment spectrum.

Qualifications:

  • Medical Degree (MD or DO)
  • Completion of a residency program in General Surgery accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME)
  • Double Board certified or eligible in General and Colorectal Surgery
  • Robotic Credentialed
  • Valid NYS Medical License

Wages and Benefits Include:
Annual Base Salary: $345,019* based on 40-hour work week.

The annual total value of the compensation package is estimated at $419,521**, which includes the baseline salary, 401(k) contribution, and other factors as set forth below:

  • Projected bonus of up to $40,000 (based on previous year’s average), contingent upon meeting quality and productivity targets.
  • 401(k) Company Contribution (subject to IRS contribution limits):
    • Employees are immediately vested in a 3% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
    • After one year of service, employees receive an additional 7% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
  • Annual Continuing Medical Education (CME) Reimbursement.
  • Generous Annual Paid Time Off (PTO): Vacation, Sick, Holiday, and CME days.
  • Medical, Prescription, and Dental Coverage: Top-tier plans with employee contributions significantly below market rates.
  • Life Insurance and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) Coverage: Equal to 2x your salary (up to a maximum of $300,000) provided at no cost to you.
