Job summary

Penske Truck Leasing Co., L.P. is seeking a Collision Repair Shop Assistant to support operations in our Annapolis Junction facility. You will help with parts handling, yard movement, inventory coordination, and shop upkeep to keep technicians focused on repairs.

The role emphasizes reliability, safety, and teamwork, with pathways into larger roles such as a parts coordinator or technician. Expect a Monday–Friday schedule and an engaging, hands-on environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Forklift certification a plus (training provided onsite).
• Prior shop, warehouse, or automotive experience preferred but not required.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask required.
• Must be reliable and willing to learn and contribute.
• Demonstrates teamwork, initiative, and readiness to grow into additional technical skills over time.
• Must comply with DOT, OSHA and Penske safety policies; PPE use required.

Responsibilities

• Parts & Inventory Support: unpacking, sorting, moving parts to work areas; maintain safety and order.
• Returns and packaging cleanup; break down boxes and prepare items for pickup or recycling.
• Maintain organization of parts room and shop stock.
• Stage next units for repair with required parts and vehicles ready to minimize downtime.
• Yard & Vehicle Management: safely move vehicles in/out of yard and staging areas.
• Transport units and occasional non-CDL pickups or deliveries.
• Cleaning & Shop Support: provide extra help to keep operations running smoothly and safely.
• Daily cleaning of floors, tools, and work areas; manage trash and bulk disposal.
• Assist with light equipment adjustments and tool room organization.
• Vehicle washing or detailing when requested.
