Job summary

The Boyd Group in Eagle Lake, FL is seeking an Auto Body Technician to deliver exceptional customer experiences through precise vehicle repairs. You will assess, disassemble, repair, and reassemble bodies to restore pre-accident condition while meeting KPI targets and acting as a brand ambassador.

Responsibilities

  • Plan repair work and prepare cost estimates for customers.
  • Use tools such as cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers, and pliers to repair vehicle sections.
  • Hammer out dents and dimples; mix and apply filler resins when needed.
  • Realign car chassis and frames to repair structural damage.
  • Remove damaged sections and replace them with new or aftermarket parts.
  • Replace or repair glass, windshields, interior parts, and other components.
  • Weld and attach parts, fit them into place, and prepare for repainting.
  • Prepare and repaint vehicles with factory‑specified paint or agreed‑upon equivalents.
  • Attempt to complete work orders within labor time guidelines.
  • Inspect vehicles after repair to verify quality and correct execution.

Job Overview

The Auto Body Technician’s primary responsibility is to provide an exceptional customer experience through meticulous assessment and quality repair of each vehicle to restore it back to pre‑accident condition. The technician disassembles, repairs, and reassembles vehicle bodies, aligning with team members to meet repair KPIs and serve as a brand ambassador for The Boyd Group.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan repair work and prepare cost estimates for customers.

Required Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Successful completion of a technical school program or a 3‑year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer.
Required Skills & Abilities
  • Read job orders and work independently.
  • Collaborate effectively with other repairers.
  • Understand methods and procedures for repairing vehicle bodies.
  • Know how to use trade tools effectively.
Physical & Environmental Requirements
  • Work safely in noisy areas with strong odors.
  • Lift up to 30 pounds at times.
  • Visually inspect damage in various weather conditions.
  • Perform tasks that require bending, stretching, kneeling, and squatting.

Compensation
